The Secret Of A Money Making Title
| Don't you just love a good title? The way it grabs your attention and you think, "Hey, I've got to read this." I wonder though, how many of us bloggers actually give the title of our post much attention. Do we make sure that it's an attention getter? Or do we simply write out the first thing that comes into our head? When I used to publish my mail order magazines sometimes I'd sit for ages until the right headline came to my mind. With blog posts, I suppose, we should be doing the same (especially if Hit Exchanges are still being used - when you literally only have seconds to hang on to your prospective visitor). The word Secret in a title is always a winner: The Secret Of ( whatever you wish). You could have things like: The Secret Of Making Money With Blogs, The Secret Of Training Dogs or whatever is relevant to the subject matter of your blog. Another good one is: What Every Blogger Should Know About ( anything at all). Or it could be What Every Man Should Know About ... or you could substitute 'Woman' or 'Everyone' or whatever. Other possible titles are things like: A Quick Way To (anything), What Bloggers Should Know About (anything) and so on. If you can tie in your 'keyword' into the title so much the better. For this blog my main keyword is 'money', so I include this in the title whenever I can. I'm not going to dwell on the subject for too long but I reckon a good title, plus the right keyword, can get more visitors. It's worth thinking about. Of course you've then got to hang on to them with a good first paragraph. Ask a question, create a word picture, state an interesting fact and so on. Then, at the end of the post, see if you can get back to where you started the post. Anyway, you may have a different opinion. Moving on. I got around 30 hits last week via 1000000 Links. I'm not sure why it works but it has recently. There's also an identical set up at Mister Linker so I'm giving that a whirl as well. I do love people who take the piss - hope it's okay to use that word here! One such gentleman writes something called the Pisstakers - see he's made me use bad language twice now.
