Money Making Test: Friend Finder Group
| Today, as a continuation of my Money Making Tests, I'm reporting on an affiliate program from which I have made money. This is the FriendFinder Group. Who are they? The Friend Finder Group have over 25 websites covering most aspects of the contact and friendship world. Their sites range from Big Church which they describe as 'somewhere that gives Christians/Catholics an excellent, safe community for meeting prospective friends, bible partners, and spouses' to Adult Friend Finder (over 18's only) which they claim is 'the world's largest sex and swinger site – with nearly 20 million active members worldwide. The site features video introductions, photo albums, steamy chatrooms, live Webcams and much more.' Okay, so here we have a group of websites that will cover all tastes with the advantage that, if you join the group as an affiliate, you can promote all or any of the sites as you wish. I'll list the sites at the end of this report so that you can see exactly what is on offer. What is the commission structure? Each site varies but there are usually three options on what basis you can promote the business. For example with AdultFriendFinder the options are: (1) To be paid per click, amount dependent on the number of clicks. (2) By a percentage of the sales value (50% and upwards, dependent on volume) plus recurring payments i.e. more money when a member renews his or her membership. (3) A set amount per order ($30), regardless of value. It is also possible to earn extra money by introducing new affiliates - normally 10% of what they earn. What commission have I made? I chose the (2) option above and in my experience it is the Adult Friend Finder site that produces the most money. My statistics from this site are as follows: Unique clicks I have sent to their site = 9167 Number of members introduced = 85 This gives an average of 107 clicks sent per order. This has produced earnings of $306.23 (this is more than I am showing on my Weekly Reports) Are there any snags to being an affiliate? There is one. Each individual site is treated seperately as regards payment. This means that to get paid you have to have a minimum of $50 on a particular site. You can't lump earnings from several sites together. This means, for example, if you have made $22 from, say, the BigChurch and $55 from AdultFriend Finder you would only receive the $55 in that month. The $22 would be held over until your earnings for the BigChurch also amounted to $50. This is a little annoying as I have several small amounts on some of the sites where it is doubtful that I will ever reach the $50 payout level. For this reason I would suggest that, if you were to become an affiliate, you concentrate on the biggest earners and forget the rest - unless you have a specific market. For me the best earning sites are: FriendFinder and Adult Friend Finder. Unless you have an adult site I wouldn't recommend their Cams.Com (over 18's only) site. I tried promoting this through various forums etc. and had over 20,000 clicks. 28 people joined for free but no one parted with any cash so my earnings, despite all the clicks, was zero. Any good points about FriendFinder Group. Yes! (a) There are hundreds of promotional banners of all sorts and sizes from members' banners and flash to auto rotating and text links. You can chose landing pages to meet your requirements and there are even popunders, if these appeal, though they don't to me. The overall promotional aids are excellent - much more than I have mentioned. (b)Payments are made on a regular basis and I have received my own earnings without any problems. Conclusions?  This sort of affiliate program isn't for everyone, especially the more adult orientated sites, but there is still plenty of choice whatever your preferences. It has worked for me and I would recommend it as an affiliate program.I have tried to present the facts and statistics and not hype. Is this new? I wondered if you had tried being paid per click, as it seems you would make a lot more than $306 for the 9000+ clicks you sent. Or is there some restriction on being paid per click that isnt immediately apparent?

The article is good. The commission structure,FriendFinder Group,snags to being an affiliate and different details of best affiliate program are explained well in this. Online marketing is now the easiest way to earn the dollars but devoting time and interest.
Robrobrob, the $1 refers to a free sign-up for every click. Most clicks do not generate sign-ups unless your conversion rate is fantastic. If no one signs up you get approximately .5 of a cent for each click.
If your traffic converts so poorly you don't get 1 sign-up for twenty clicks they will change you over to the order programme.
Basically you trade less average profit for less volatility using the per-click programme.
