Money Making Problem With Commission Junction
| Until now I have always been full of praise for Commission Junction. As you will have seen on my last Money Making Weekly Report I have, after all, earned £75.85 (about US$145) with them. My opinion changed yesterday. Why? Because when I went to log in, to check my current stats etc., all I could get is the following message: Our records indicate that your account has been deactivated. Now I have heard of such things happening with AdSense but never before with CJ. I have absolutely no idea as to why my account has been deactivated. I can't see where I could have possibly gone wrong. I have only used approved advertisements and have secured quite a few orders. A couple of things annoy me most: (a) There has been no explanation for their action. I have had no email stating any reasons. (b) They owe me £27.85 (US$52). I have previously received £48 (US$93) direct to my bank and on time - excellent! It's not the amount that they owe me that bothers me it's the principle. I have since read of examples of CJ affiliates who have had similar problems in the past. They do, for example, deactivate accounts that are inactive for six months - though this seems, to me, to be perfectly acceptable. Needless to say I have sent them an email and will let you know of any reply in due course. I like to keep you up to date with my blog money making activities. If I can find out the reason for my deactivation it may help forewarn other affiliates. It does seem that these big companies hold a lot of power over small affiliate members. To my way of thinking though, everyone - no matter what their volume of business - deserves common business courtesies. If you know of anyone else who has had problems with CJ it would be nice to hear of the details. It could help others. Good luck, Mike. Well yes I also had a similar problem with Commission Junction and they didn't want to pay up so I discontinued my account, gives them a BAD name!
iVE BEEN with them for years now. I guess maybe 7? anyways made on ton with them during the net bubble years. havent heard or had that problem yet. What i have noticed is. You sign up for a new merchant it says congrats. you go ahead and post their banners etc then like 1 week to 2 weeks later it says u have to apply again? so you dont get the credit? for the times you displayed thier banners and made them sales??
Aonther thing I noticed if A merchant spashes thier 1-800 number on thier homepage and a buye who clicked or got there via you and your efforst, You will not get the credit for the sale if the buyer calls the 800 number. I know this as I emailed some merchants who had it and said no credit for sale if trhey call us on 800 number.
Wasn't there a comment/post on this blog ages ago about how CJ doesn't like blogs? Personally, I think they're being very close eyed for not providing blog services.
I myself haven't had any problems with them
Sorry to hear that Mike... luckily I stopped using them last week too. What are you planning to do with the balance of money still owed to you?
CJ seems to be falling short on a couple of grounds. Not just the inexplicable account closure, but also the above mentioned 'failed registration' which results in you effectively showing their ads for free for a period.
Gives them a bad reputation, and I'm sure it costs them business. For example reading your income lists CJ was the one that jumped out as you had negative comments. Who do I NOT now sign up with!
I'd be very interested to see how this one turns out. Banning publishers without explanation - have they been acquired by Google by any chance?

I also have a similar problem, it's been almost more than one year since I last logged in my account. I have dropped them an email but they didn't reply.
Same problem. However, bidvertise and adsense decided to wipe my earnings clean what a bunch of scammers.
Hi
I have just had the same thing happen to me. Can't believe it! I had several sites under my account promoting 100s of products on both websites and blogs. I never expected such a thing to happen with a company like Commission Junction.
I too have no reply reply to my emails asking for an explanation. If I don't receive one I will not be activating another account.
I think it is awful that a company such as CJ believes it is able to potential ruins someone's legitimate business at the click of a mouse without so much as a explanation. The old "it's not my fault, we'll blame someone else" culture that seems to be taken over everywhere!
Not happy (in case you didn't realise!)
Cheers
