How To Make $100 Per Month With PPC
I thought I'd do a bit of a reality check today about pay per click (PPC) programs. By this I mean where companies pay you a sum for every click made from your blog to their website. There are lots of such programs about so I won't mention any names. Okay you sign up for a pay per click money making opportunity ... What would you hope to earn from such a program? I guess it would make things simple if we said you'd like to make $100 per month. From what I can see most pay per click payments average out at about 10c or 11c per click. This therefore means to earn that $100 you need either 1000 or 909 clicks per month - that's around 33 or 30 a day. How do you get those 1000 or 909 clicks? By getting lots of traffic - as I've said before a lot of money making with blogging is a numbers game. How any page impressions will you need to get 1000 or 909 clicks? This is a bit tricky but I reckon a CTR of 1.7% would be about average. For those who may not know, a CTR is a click through rate and is obtained by dividing the number of users who clicked on an ad by the number of times the ad was delivered (page impressions). As I've already said I reckon 1.7% is average so to get your 1000 clicks you'll need about 58,500 page impressions per month - that's around 1950 per day (58500 divided by 30 days). How to make $100 per month with pay per click. My reality check therefore indicates that to make $100 per month you will need 58,500 page impressions per month (1950 per day). Good luck, Mike. Great math. I make just under $100/mo now and get around 60k impressions per month. Almost perfect math example.
So, I confirm exactly what Mike says.
The real question isn't necessarily about how to monetize a low amount of traffic. It's how to build sites that gain lots of traffic.
Lots of traffic poorly monetized still makes a lot more money than an awesomely monetized site with very little traffic (unless it's by true sponsorship or pay-for-access type of monetization).
I just wanted to stop by and say hi,
you have a great blog,
lots of neat stuff.

thank you,
keep up the good blogging!
nate: That's interesting! Glad to see my 'workings out' are roughly right. Traffic is virtually everything with making money blogging.
msfit: Ahhh CashQuests!
Mike.
I am getting the similar traffic and exceed the USD100 . so, Mike theory is correct.
Now, I am working on increasing the EPM. Do you have any tips?
I find that by translating articles into foreign languages I get a CTR of 20% OK, so the traffic isn't quite as much but the money earned is the same or more.
