Money Making Test Update On ClickBank
As regular readers will know I have been doing a test on ClickBank to see if the claims made about making money with the program are a reality for the average blogger.I must admit that I haven't got on as well as I had hoped. One snag I have found: I have made a total of $64.72 and, as I had requested checks to be sent once over $50, I thought I would receive payment. But this wasn't to be the case. My payment was marked as CDR (Customer Distribution Requirement). On checking what this means this is what I found: Payments are held unless the following criteria are met: (1) Sales are made with 5 or more different credit card numbers and (2) Sales are made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers. So if your sales are all with say Visa then you have to wait for your money. They say that this is to stop affiliates using ClickBank to collect rebates (on their own orders) or extending credit to others. I gather that this is only when you start out - at least I hope it is. Think of that as you will. In fairness it is on their website but, to come across this, I think you would have to one of those very thorough people who wade through a lot of Q&A's. Orders Per Click I've found the orders per click so far to be poor. I've had over 2,300 clicks but have only made $64.72. I don't know how many clicks I've actually had in total because, as far as I can see, ClickBank only give stats for 30 days. I feel I've done okay with generating clicks. I've averaged about 76 per day, but this hasn't produced sufficient sales as far as I'm concerned. (I do some programs where I can average 1 in 25 sales, though not of such high amounts dollar wise). I'll press on for a few more weeks as the blog, Good Health Source, I started to tie in with ClickBank is beginning to build up steam. I'll get back to you with how I eventually get on with ClickBank. Good luck, Mike. YouGov: Complete surveys and polls for payment - genuine company. Hi Mike,
true what you said. I tried clickbank products a number of time but all I got were clicks. very little to no sale. I do not know whats with the digital products. I have done much better with CJ however (unlike your experience with CJ) and have sold over $2000 worth of actual physical products so far. I am pressing on with that for now and hope to see better results as I do more and more SEO.
Best Regards,
Irwin

forgot to mention, good effort on your part. I would say keep trying and lets see what the results turn out to be for this experiment. It would be good to know how much time you spent, what traffic you got and how much sales at the end.
The landing pages alot of them have aren't too great in my opinion, but it depends on the product sold too. I have about $150 sitting to collect in Clickbank right now since most of the people I'm gettings sales from are paypal users. I still need 3 more sales with credit cards =P.
As for the 5 credit cards Mike its only for the first payout. Once that's done with you won't have to worry about it anymore.
Has it only been a little over a month that you're testing this? I'd say that's not bad, considering your site's still new. Keep it up and keep on going -- I'd like to see how it goes after 6 months or so. Thanks for sharing.
I have sign up for click bank but it not give earning more for me...
Just seen your latest post on Good Health Source. Would do great on my adult blogs :)
As to your sales at Clickbank, working mainly in adult, the ratio, money made to clicks, seems okay to me and pretty average.
Like you and mitch, I have yet to receive a payment from Clickbank (all of my sales have been made with paypal so far...). I did check the small print before signing up, but didn't think it would be a problem at the time. Now I wonder....
I reckon you will do well with the Good Health Source blog though. It's looking good - nice and clean and informational and the Adsense seems to be working okay on it too (The only thing I would change would be to put some sales text around that slimming banner).
Just give it time :)
Many thanks for the comments.
Irwin: Interesting what you write. I think you are right things like CJ, tradedoubler etc. are probably a better route to go.
Mitch: I agree about some of the landing pages - and too many of them have exactly the same format which screams out that they are sales orientated.
Lorna: It's okay but the sales in proportion to clicks is poor, at least I think so.
Zolar: Thanks for the input.
Zania: Thanks for that. I'm not happy though about this payment ruling. It's a bit like Google and their $100 minimum pay out. They make a mint out of this as so many bloggers give up before they reach payout. I remember when I started blogging I thought I'd never reach $100 - now it's quite easy.
Mike.
I have tried Clickbank, but the sites which I should promote looks lame. I can't conceive who would buy anything in a page like the most of it. It's very hard to find an everyday-looking site on Clickbank, and I'm not lucky with promoting this few either.
