Keep Visitors For Longer To Make More Money
| I was looking at some stats for Wednesday, which was a decent day traffic wise, and something became very obvious when comparing a couple of my celebrity blogs. I saw where I was possibly missing an opportunity to make money. Quite simply on one of the blogs I wasn't getting sufficient 'hits' when compared to the number of 'visits'. (I'm using Icerocket as a tracker and they call hits the total number of pages read) Let's look at the stats: ![]() ![]() As you can see Celebrity Insider had the most visitors - 4121 to CelebTease.com's 3841 - but much fewer pages were read - 4969 to CelebTease.com's 10126. I must therefore be losing money making potential on Celebrity Insider because, in this example, 5247 less pages were read. It seems logical to me that the more pages people look at the more opportunity there is to make money - especially as each page/post has a text ad included. So what have I done to correct this? Firstly in the left hand column of Celebrity Insider I have now created a long list of celebrities I have featured on the blog. Secondly I will now try to remember to include links on each post to other relevant posts on the blog. Hopefully these two things will bring the two blogs mentioned more into balance. I see it as being important to try and keep readers on a blog for as long as possible and one way to do this is by making it easy for them to move on to associated posts. There are also other ways. All the time with blogging there are things to look at to get the best out of an individual blog, especially if the aim is to make money. Food for thought. Good luck, Mike. Another very interesting post, Mike.
Yes, our visitors can visit one page of our blog or many. If the latter happens then there are more possibilities that they click on an ad or buy something or enjoy that blog. This is pretty obvious, but then... why don't we (including me) link much more with pages of our own site or blog.
Yes, Mike, that could be very effective. Linking profusely to ALL the related pages of our blog that can be of great interest to readers. If this reader is interesting in something, if finally has found what he was looking for... why not making things easier for him and mention all the pages that we have that can interest him?
The reader is not a sort of magician who knows perfectly where the pages of our blog than can be of interest to him can be found. We know them, because we are working on our blog, our cherised blog, but most people are in foreign territory, so they need many, many signs, simple, obvious signs and indications! They need advice. If not, they don't find what they are looking for, they desist and abandon our site, our... shop. Goodbye, sir, nobody is helping me here, all is confusing to me here and you only have to offer to me one product, nothing more...
Once more, another great post Mike(interesting, short and to the point).

"If this reader is interesting in something..."
Obviously I meant to say "If this reader is interested in something".
Sorry. It is late in Spain (and in England)...
Yes, my English is bad, but... many times it seems worse than it really is. Another time I read my comment more carefully before publishing it.
I feel sending this comment like if I were spamming ("semi-joke"...) So feel free to remove it.
Another idea. Some humour in our blogs, now and then, always is a good thing...
